Apothecary Connection Newsletter #2: Fire Cider! 12/04/23
BRRRR…
The mornings are definitely getting colder, our trees and plants are fast asleep, and our community is preparing for overeating, drinking indulgences, and staying up past our bedtimes. What fun! Ha. However, we can partake in all the festivities AND stay healthy!!
One way to do this is by preparing a special drink called “FIRE CIDER” . Fire Cider is a spicy, tonic vinegar infusion that has been made by herbalists for generations. The combination of honey, vinegar and herbs creates an ancient preparation called an oxymel. This sweet and sour medicine dates back to the time of the Greeks and has been used for many ailments. This is a great way to fight off those sniffles and cough. The basic recipe is adapted from Rosemary Gladstar, but there are many other herbs that can be added to create your own unique version. Fire Cider, in particular, can be used as an immune boost at the onset of a cold or flu, or as an energizing drink the morning after. Keep it in your fridge and enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 quart Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
1/2 cup Horseradish root grated
1/8 cup of Garlic chopped (about 10 cloves)
1/2 cup of Onion chopped
1/2 cup of Ginger grated
1 tsp Cayenne
Raw, local honey to taste.
Other optional ingredients:
Any kind of hot pepper, rosemary, thyme, turmeric, hibiscus, schisandra berry, lemon or orange peel, elderberry, rosehips, peppercorns, etc…
Directions:
Add all ingredients to a quart-sized glass jar and cover with the vinegar. Stir together well. Place a piece of wax paper under the lid to keep the vinegar from corroding the metal. Shake well. Store in a dark, cool place for 4 – 6 weeks and shake daily. Taste occasionally to determine your desired flavor. When ready, use a cheesecloth to strain out the pulp, pouring the vinegar into a clean jar. Squeeze out as much of the liquid as you can. Add ¼ cup of honey and stir until incorporated. Taste your cider and add another ¼ cup until you reach the desired level of sweetness. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays!

Apothecary Connection Newsletter #1: Our Website is Live! 09/11/23
Welcome everyone!
I am so very excited to announce the launch of Apothecary Connection, a holistic approach to healing. After many years in the making, I have finally taken the steps to opening my business to the world. The years of studying herbology, aromatherapy, reiki, energy work, and meditation have led me to the ability of providing a multitude of options to help others in healing. A definite dream come true!

Are you wishing to get a better night's sleep? Ease a physical pain in your body? Have less stress in your day? Or need some energy work to cleanse your chakras? These are just some of the services I can provide.

My deepest passion is working with herbs and essential oils to create teas and tinctures. After a consultation, I’ll craft a blend of herbs that works specifically on what you need. I believe plants are the yin to our yang. We are affected by them everyday; yes, even in New England winters when they finally get to rest after doing their amazing job of healing us throughout the spring, summer, and fall.

I have been so blessed by so many individuals in helping me get to where I can start this new adventure. Thank you to all my family, master teachers, and friends who have each been a part of this unfolding. I certainly could not have done this without your love, support, wisdom, and guidance!!

I wish you all love and light and look forward to what’s to come of Apothecary Connection.

Thank you!
